25 April 2005 - Here a bee is collecting pollen from the Cherry blossom. Just as with our human birds and the bees stories, the real bees are vital in the pollenation of the fruit trees. If bees did not go from blossom to blossom to collect the nectar, and get pollen on their legs which they shared with the next blossom they visited, the fruit tree would have to depend on air pollenation or some other means. Thank goodness for those busy bees! And its not just fruit trees, and ALL plants. |
